Syracuse, Pavement
Syracuse: the ancient capital of Sicily.
A piece of the ancient pavement in the Via Venti Settembre in Syracuse. In front are the remains of an ancient gate that is known as Porta Urbica.
It is not exactly an impressive monument, but the thought that Plato, Theocritus, Archimedes, Cicero, Paul of Tarsus, and the famous tyrants all walked over this pavement, is certainly worth a thought.
