Ephesus, Temple of Domitian
Ephesus (modern Selçuk): ancient Greek town in western Turkey, one of the largest and best excavated cities of the ancient world.
The temple of the Roman emperor Domitian (r.81-96) must have been one of the main sanctuaries of Ephesus, but the emperor was assassinated, his memory was cursed, and the sanctuary was rededicated.
