Yazdgard I the Sinner
Yazdgard I, nicknamed the Sinner: king of Persia, ruling from 399 to 420, member of the Sasanian dynasty.

- Quiet reign without many recorded incidents
- Peaceful policy towards Rome; friendly attitude towards Christians (hence the nickname "the Sinner", given to him by the Zoroastrian clergy, which lost some influence)
- End of reign: 420; there is a serious struggle for the throne
- Succeeded by: his son Bahram V
